Population we attempt to cover
SIE Atlas attempts to cover Canadian registered and approved financial professionals across investment dealers, mutual fund dealers, portfolio managers and related registration categories. Inclusion does not imply that every field is available for every person or that a record replaces a regulator lookup.
Canadian terms and categories
CIRO
The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, the self-regulatory organization overseeing investment dealers, mutual fund dealers and their registered individuals.
CSA
The Canadian Securities Administrators, the council of Canada's provincial and territorial securities regulators.
Approved Person
A person approved under applicable CIRO requirements to perform specified activities for a regulated dealer.
Dealing representative
A registration category for an individual permitted to advise on or trade securities within the scope of the individual's registration.
Advising representative
A registration category associated with providing investment advice on behalf of a registered portfolio manager.
Registration category
The capacity in which a firm or individual is registered, with activities limited by applicable securities law and regulatory requirements.

Refresh cadence

Sources, normalization and linkage
Source categories may include public regulatory registries, firm and corporate records, and commercial business-contact sources. Availability and permitted use depend on the source and applicable agreement. We normalize names, firms, locations and registration categories, then use identifiers and other record attributes to link related entries. Ambiguous matches may remain separate rather than being forced together.

Fields vary by professional, firm, province, source and permitted use. Business contact details are presented only where available and permitted; historical changes and source or verification dates appear where supported.
